FYI. linked a phone number from SIPGate (VOIP phone number) with your google voice. so you can get free incoming calling and outgoing calling. :)
Google is a great engineering company with great minds, its google voice which opened today to the public after one year of being in private beta, allows you to make free calls to any U.S. number, it can be used as a single number that connects to all your phone numbers. Google Voice offers nice features such as when people call you, they record their name and then google voice calls you with the caller name, if you like the caller you can answer or google voice will send him to the voice mail, while the caller is recording the voice mail you can listen to it live and answer while he is recording if you wish.
Google Voice is a great service but if you are not in the US you can not use Google voice, But not really
here is a work around steps to help non US internet users get Google Voice and make free calls to the US. Yes free calls, and thank you google.
To start with you need a US number to add it to Google voice in order for it to work so it direct calls to it and you need a U.S. IP (Internet Protocol), if you have both of these then you are ready to go with google voice.
Getting a U.S. IP and a US Phone number
1- getting a US IP:
There are many ways to get a US IP, for opera browsers you can downlaod proxy widget from here
once insallted start the widget enter the URL and chose a US proxy.
Another way is to get a US IP via this list. go to your browsers setting hit preferences and add the new IP.
Now you need to make sure your IP is US based check that here.
If that did not work or was too slow, use this list and choose any of the tools you like to.
2- Now you need a US number, use the US proxy method and go to SIP Gate , signup for free and choose a US number and download its desktop app.
3- Now use the US IP and signup via your Google account to Google Voice, google thinks you are from USA so it lets you in. Now go to setting and enter your US number you got from SIP Gate and choose your google voice number, make sure it is easy to remmber.
Congrats you now have a Goolge voice and can make free calls to USA all you need now is to keep SIP Gate Client Open to receive calls and to call US numbers. To do so go to Google Voice on the web hit call enter the number and chose SIP Gate Method now google voice will call your Sip Gate client, accept and then it will call the US number you called.
